Catalysts — news on the markets you are watching

What it is

Catalysts is a news feed scoped to your board. On desktop it sits in the left rail of the cockpit, beside the Match log; on a phone it has its own News tab. It shows only items that name a ticker your desk is currently showing — crypto majors, and the equity, index, and commodity markets Hyperliquid lists. Newest first. Nothing else gets in, so you never have to work out whether a headline touches anything you trade.

Where the items come from

• Corporate press releases off the PR wire, tagged PR — the same release the market reacts to, at wire speed.
• Market headlines from a curated set of financial newsrooms.
• An item reaches you when it names one of your markets — either as the release’s own ticker or in the headline itself, so a partnership or a treasury purchase that moves a market you hold still lands.
• Every item is read once and reduced to a single line, a category, and an expected direction where the text supports one. Marketing and awards-circuit releases are dropped rather than shown.

On the chart

Catalysts also mark the chart. When you focus a market, every news item naming it plants a tick on the chart’s time axis beside the scheduled macro releases — green where the read leans bullish, rose where it leans bearish, amber where it claims nothing — so you can see whether a move had a headline behind it or moved on flow alone. Hover a tick for the item. Turn the markers off under Overlays → News.

How to read a row

• The ticker leads, with a ▲ or ▼ when the read has a direction and a plain dot when it does not. A dot is not a neutral opinion — it means no direction was claimed.
• The age on the right is how long ago the item hit the wire. The feed covers the last two days.
• Hover a row to preview that market on the chart and heatmap; click to keep it focused. The link icon opens the original source in a new tab.
• A count on the Catalysts tab is how many items have landed since you last looked.

What it does not do

Catalysts reports what was published; it never tells you what to do about it. Directions are a machine read of the text itself, not a forecast and not a signal — treat a row as a reason to go look at the market, and let the board tell you whether flow agrees. When your board is quiet, the feed is empty, which is the honest answer rather than filler.
